Scott Larkin, Ocean Township

When the 2000 season started, Ocean was nowhere to be found in the various Top Ten polls.  But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Spartans left behind a 4-6 record in 1999 and flew back to it's spot among the Shore Conference elite.  Led by Coach of the Year Scott Larkin, the Big Red soared to a 11-1 record, the Central Jersey Group 3 title and a share of the Shore Conference Federal division title.  Larkin, 26 and a 1993 graduate of Ocean, assembled an ace staff in his rookie year and restored the storied traditions of Ocean Township football - the jumping jacks, the beach workouts, etc.  But most impressively, he restored the championships - in only one year.
